Company · About Tomco

Built for the autonomous world.

Tomco Service Group has delivered safety-critical product engineering since 2016 and shipped AI agents into client programs since 2021. Every engagement is led by a credentialed AFSP, and every reference pack we ship has been pressure-tested on a Tomco-owned platform first.

What we do

We build safety-critical product — and the evidence chain to ship it.

Tomco runs as an integrated practice across functional safety, cybersecurity, AI assurance, autonomy & robotics, software safety, systems engineering, and quality. Every program is led by AFSPs and accelerated by Tomco AI agents working under AFSP supervision.

Operating principles

Four principles that govern every engagement.

Not values on a wall — these show up in the work products, the reviews, and the assessor's notes.

Principle 01

AFSP-led, always

Every engagement is led by a credentialed AFSP — TÜV SÜD, exida, or equivalent — with field experience on production safety-critical platforms. Not a sales engineer with a slide deck.

Principle 02

Evidence-first

We work in the same artifacts that go to the assessor. The work product is the deliverable; everything else is a side effect.

Principle 03

AI agents under the AFSP

Tomco AI agents accelerate drafting, traceability, and review. Every agent operates under AFSP supervision with full provenance — no autonomous edits to safety artifacts.

Principle 04

Internal R&D, productized

We run our own autonomy, robotics, and AI-assurance programs. Every reference pack we ship to clients has been pressure-tested on a Tomco-owned platform first.

History

From founding to flagship.

A short timeline of how Tomco grew from a small AFSP practice to an integrated safety, security, AI assurance, and autonomy firm.

2016
Founded

Tomco Service Group founded as an AFSP-led safety engineering practice serving automotive Tier 1s and OEMs.

2018
Aerospace & medical

Practice expanded into DO-178C / DO-254 aerospace programs and IEC 62304 medical device software.

2021
AI agents

First Tomco AI agents shipped into client programs — AFSP-supervised, evidence-tracked, and used across functional safety, cyber, and assurance work.

2023
Internal R&D portfolio

Internal R&D programs launched: NorthStar (L4 ground), Atelier (humanoid), Skylark (Cessna-class), Tideline (USV), Drift (sUAS), Quarry (heavy haul).
